The West Sacramento Historical Society was established in mid-1993 by Bryan Turner and the late Virginia Seamans to preserve the history of West Sacramento. In addition to exhibitions in the West Sacramento Community Center, we continue collecting the history of West Sacramento. Our historical inventory includes three original community fire apparatus, Port of Sacramento photos and documents, scale models, photographs, paintings, newspapers, oral history interview and videos, and household and business related artifacts.
The West Sacramento Historical Society's digital collection at California Revealed consists of texts from the 1990s to 2010s. The collection includes hundreds of complete issues of the West Sacramento News-Ledger, a newspaper founded on August 26, 1964.
