The Washington Township Museum of Local History is the result of the desire of Mission Peak Heritage Foundation and Washington Township Historical Society to have a permanent place to display historical artifacts each collected over the years. The museum preserves Southern Alameda County memories, documents, artifacts, and structures from the past and shares them with present and future generations.
The Washington Township Museum of Local History's digital collection at California Revealed consists of text, images, moving images and audio recordings from the 1850s to the 2000s. The collection includes oral history interviews with local residents, home movies, photographs of landmarks and community members, high school yearbooks, complete issues of local newspapers like The Washington Press and The Township Register, as well as historical documents like assessor maps, ledgers, and account books.
