The collections of the UC San Diego Library are the result of more than 45 years of intensive efforts to build one of the outstanding research collections within the University of California System. The success of our collection-building activity is due to the commitment between librarians, faculty, staff, students, and private donors. With more than seven million digital and print volumes, journals, and multimedia materials, the Library directly supports the research and instructional needs of the University and serves as a portal to culture and discovery.
The University of California, San Diego Libraries' digital collection at California Revealed consists of moving images and audio recordings from the 1960s to the early 2000s. The collection includes many public broadcasting recordings from KPBS and news footage from local TV stations, as well as several scientific and industrial films related to naval engineering.
