Description
Part of a multifaceted oral history project conducted by museum staff using grant funds to capture pioneer stories from residents whose memories stretch back to the early 1900s and to the original pioneer era in Inyo County and the Eastern Sierra. Besides local history, many of these oral histories are relevant to the early history of Los Angeles, California, and the American West. These "old timers" talk about the way life was before and during the LADWP land and water grab years, old industries that have all but dried up, and events that left an impression on them decades later.
