Description
This video depicts various events, displays, activities, etc. of the Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fair held in August 1980 in Bishop, California. Inyo, Mono and Alpine County residents display local and regional wares depicting the culture that supports the area's economy. Additionally, residents submit a wide variety of crafts, foods, art, photography, and more to show lifestyles and traditions of the area. The video also has a segment on a mule racing competition held at the Fairgrounds Racetrack. The region has developed a deep reverence for pack animal stock which contributed to the area's settlement and early transportation systems.
