Musical score, God save Armenia! : Armenian hymn / words and music by K. Proff-Kalfaian. Krikor Proff Kalfayan (Armenian: Գրիգոր Քալֆայան, 1873–1949) was an Armenian writer, lecturer, musician, and musicologist. Born in Bursa, Ottoman Empire in 1873, he moved to Constantinople to study at the Getronagan Lyceum, then to Paris, France to attend the Schola Cantorum. In 1907 he was admitted to the Société des auteurs, compositeurs et éditeurs de musique in Paris. Kalfayan moved from France and settled in the United States in 1913, becoming a U.S. citizen in 1922. Kalfayan became a music master of Armenian churches in Worcester, Boston, Lowell and Fresno. He died in Fresno, California in 1949.
