Description
Nisei male, born February 26, 1913 in Florin, California to farming parents who died by the time he was thirteen. He left school to help support the family. Hideo married Dorothy Nishikawa in 1937. When Hideo was nineteen in 1942, his family was evacuated to Fresno, California, then to both Jerome and Rohwer, Arkansas. Their farm was managed by the Florin Fruit Farmers. When Dorothy�s father died in camp, Hideo and her brother obtained permission to accompany the casket to Tennessee for cremation. Dorothy�s brother, an American soldier, was accused by military police of fake identification and stolen uniform. The Kadokawa�s returned to Sacramento where Hideo worked for Sacramento Frozen Food Company, then for Sacramento Unified School District. The hardships and lack of parenting as a youth were compensated by his happy marriage and loving family.
