Reel 2:
Segment 1 (silent): Kids at a community pool, playing on swings, picnicking in grass
Segment 2 (silent): Empty football field with fireworks displays set up for Fourth of July
Segment 3 (sound): Church bells ringing at St. Joseph's Church in San Jose.
Segment 4 (silent): Aerial view of hills and a small grass fire being put out
Reel 3 (sound): Interview with San Jose Catholic priest Father Thomas M. Fry, who talks about a telegram that was signed by many local priests, sent to President Johnson to express sorrow at the recent bombing raids in Vietnam, and to push for de-escalation of conflict in Vietnam. He's asked if there were any priests who refused to sign the telegram, and he said there were a few priests who are uncomfortable making public statements, or who just aren't used to taking public stands. He's also asked if any of his parishioners give him criticism for his work with the civil rights movement and the farm workers movement, and he says that some of them do disagree with his political activism, and also some disagree with the Catholic Church's and Vatican's stand.
Reel 4 (silent + sound): Monterey reporter Dennis Rowedder interviews the captain of a boat that crashed on the rocks in Monterey Bay and was rescued by the Coast Guard. There are shots of the remains of the boat in the water, a Coast Guard boat approaching the shore, the rescued crew being taken on shore, a woman drying her hair. She's also interviewed and says she was asleep when the boat hit the rocks.
