This interview covers Norman Bradley's life working for the Southern Pacific Railroad Company in Oakland as a Black man. Themes include 1) his move in 1942 during the Great Migration from the Gulf Coast to Oakland, 2) the experiences of his time as a Waiter, and later Steward, on the railroad and what the work consisted of. 3) his experience with labor Unions. 4) his exposure to the prevalence of racism, including his interactions and experiences at work and around West Oakland. 5) his eventual move from Southern Pacific to Amtrak, and the famous people he met during his tenure. 6) his opinions on the present (then) day status of the Railroad.
