Description
Alan LeFever was born on Second Street in Whittier in 1923. His father had an orange grove in East Whittier, bordered by Second Street, Ocean View, Whittier Blvd, and California Street. He remembers the 1929 earthquake, and how it caused him to attend first grade at the East Whittier Women's Club. His first grade teacher, Miss Wicker, has an auditorium at East Whittier Middle School named after her (Emma A. Wicker auditorium).
