Description
The speaker, Frank Sherwood Rowland, a professor of chemistry at the University of California, Irvine was best-known for his discovery that chlorofluorocarbons contribute to ozone depletion. Rowlands research initiated a scientific investigation of the problem and in 1978, the first ban on CFC-based aerosols in spray cans was issued in the United States.
