Description
Baseball in Dixon-Presentation to the Dixon Historical Society. Several important athletes were born and raised in Dixon, CA. The long-time Dixon family the Rohwers, had five baseball playing sons in the late teens and early 1920s. Two of the brothers, Ray and Claude Rohwer, went on to play semi-pro and National League baseball. Ray played for the Pittsburgh Pirates as outfielder in the early 1920's. His younger brother Claude played shortstop for several minor league teams
the San Francisco Seals, the Charleston Pals, and the Sacramento Seals. This recording by one of the Rohwers non-baseball playing brothers adds to the study of baseball history in California.
