A collection of Acevedo's lapel and hat pins, including U.S. Army and MIA POW (Their War Is Not Over) pins. The MIA POW pin is shaped like a watchtower. Anthony C. Acevedo is a veteran of World War II. He was born in San Bernardino, California on July 3, 1924. He was drafted and served in the Army from August 1943 to December 1945. His highest rank was Corporal. He served in the Medic Corp performing surgeries in Europe, including Vichy, France. He was a prisoner of war and sustained service-related injuries. He was awarded many medals and service awards. They include a Purple Heart, Victory Ribbon, American Theatre (also known as an American Campaign Medal), European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal (also known as the EAME Ribbon), three Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal.
