Faye Myers Dastrup was born in Sanford, Colorado in 1915 and moved to California soon after marrying her first husband. After raising her four daughters, Dastrup became involved in many civic activities and began working for the City of Ontario in 1957. In 1964, she was elected as Ontario's city clerk, a position she would hold for ten years until she was elected to the Ontario City Council. She served on the council until 1992. During retirement, Dastrup continued engaging in civic activities and served on the board of the Ontario Museum of History and Art. In 1991, she married Wayne Hamill, and in 2009 the couple moved to Utah to be closer to family. Faye Myers Dastrup Hamill died in 2012. The Model Colony History Room has a small collection of materials donated by Dastrup, as well as a collection of newspaper clippings and copies of speeches delivered by Dastrup in its collections., There is no written transcript for this interview.
