Description
Original camera footage edited for broadcast for KNTV San Jose Channel 11 news. Includes national, local, and sports coverage. The broadcast script for this date has not survived.
Reel 1:
Segment 1 (silent + sound): Napalm protesters in Redwood City, holding banners. A bearded man speaks to the protesters from a microphone, and is interviewed. Says he doesn't particularly want to go back to jail, it wasn't pleasant, but he feels strongly that they need to protest the use of napalm in Vietnam.
Segment 2 (silent): Santa Clara County Supervisors meeting.
Segment 3 (silent): Bulldozer in a field, pushing dirt. A small plow is attached to the bulldozer and men try to push the plow through the dirt.
Reel 2 (sound): Two interviews related to police raids and arrests at Peace Center. The first man says he signed a joint letter to San Jose Police Chief Ray Blackmore accusing the police of singling out the Peace Center for serving alcohol at a function, when many churches and other organizations do the same thing when trying to raise money, without any police interference. Why should the Peace Center be singled out? They believe it has a political cause. Blackmore is then interviewed and says this is nonsense. It wasn't harassment, it was a legal arrest, and he didn't think there needed to be a special meeting about it.
Reel 3:
Segment 1 (silent): Shots of aisles in a supermarket: bread aisle, dairy section, milk containers, ice cream in freezer.
Segment 2 (silent): Meeting in a small conference room, appears to be the Santa Clara County Planning Commission. Possibly related to FMC. Followed by shot of cars parked in field near orchard, men examining the area, car driving through orchard field throwing up dirt.
Segment 3 (silent + sound): Bike race in downtown San Jose on Second Street near the YWCA building. Bike racers ride past the camera as crowds look on. At the finish line, Bob Tetzlaff is seen wearing his U.S. champions jersey, with children looking at him. He shakes someone's end, then is interviewed. Another race goes past. Tetzlaff is then interviewed on camera and asked if he's still competing in international races. He says he's on the Olympic committee, and he'd much rather do some coaching and this type of thing. He's going to keep racing in the national and local races.
