Description
Live performance by Bing Barroga and his Aloha Serenaders, formed in Los Angeles in 1941.
Bing Barroga and his Tradewind Melodists (by 1941 known as the Aloha Serenaders) had honed their style in Los Angeles and along Route 66 from 1931 onward. Their music was broadcast by LA's KRKD. Thanks to Rita Barroga, the band's music at gigs and parties was recorded onto numerous reel-to-reels. The formation of Bing Barroga and his Aloha Serenaders happened in California. The group of former U.S. Army members from Ft. Ord and Ft. Beale became naturalized citizens and found their voice and sound in California.
