Located near the garment district in downtown Los Angeles, the sub-standard conditions of the buildings have become the focal point of the activities of three women. Mirta Ocana, a paralegal and the slum litigation unit coordinator in a suit against the owners of the buildings
and Arcelia Rojas de Ramirez, a tenant who is actively fighting for better conditions in the buildings.
