This book documents the official acts of the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools T.O. Ellis Sr.. Ellis was a medical doctor and a ordained minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was born in Perry County, Missouri. He and his family resided in Tennessee and Texas before coming to California in 1857. Ellis and his family settled on the Kings River in Fresno County in 1865. He was elected to three terms and served twelve years as Fresno County Superintendent of Schools.
