Description
This is a promotional pamphlet for lands owned by the 76 Land and Water Company in the southern San Joaquin Valley counties of Fresno and Tulare. The company was formed in 1882 in order to form a canal network to supply water to the agricultural lands of the region. They built an extensive canal network, with a capacity to irrigate 220,000 acres of land, and set about selling land along the canals. The text describes the land and water quality, and the agriculture potential - with a special attention paid to raisins. The illustration on the front wrapper shows the head gate of the 76 canal, and the map shows the lands and canals of the company.
