Title
Basic Fire Control Course - Oil Firefighting
Created Date
1971
Description
Silent color footage depicts live-fire training drills in firefighting techniques for flammable liquids and gases at the California Division of Forestry Fire Academy for the "Basic Fire Control" course. Taken by Ray Higgins, March 1971 at the Cal Fire Academy in Ione, CA, opening footage of CalFire Academy grounds as they existed shortly after opening in 1967. Due to modern hazardous materials laws and environmental restrictions, live fire training drills like these using actual petroleum products are no longer permitted in California.
