Public program held at the James Marshall Monument (in Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park) on Thursday, January 24, 1980 on the 132nd anniversary of the discovery of flakes of gold in the mill race of Sutter's Mill at Coloma. The program was conducted by Betty Yohalem, Chairman of the day. - This program was taped by Daisy Miller who missed the very first part of the program so the tape starts in the middle of a talk about gold and history by Joe Flynn. - At tape marker 25 there is a description of James Marshall by someone who knew him.
